At the last race of the European touring championship in 1972, which took place on the 1st of October at Jarama, Spain, Autodelta appointed three cars of the first division. After a four hour rain race, the GTA, Driven by Colzani/Cazzago"Pooky"/Venturi, finished seventh overall and third in the division ranking, securing the triple triumph for Alfa Romeo in the first division.
